This individual will play a key role in working with the Development staff responsible for securing Gifts and stewarding donor relations, finalizing letters, memoranda, donor reports, funding proposals, and other correspondence. Will be responsible for arranging and tracking schedule related to foundation and corporate donors and prospects.

We are looking to hire a confident Development Assistant, to join our team at Newark School of the Arts. The Part-Time Development Assistant is an opportunity to develop useful skills. Description The Development Program raises up to $1 million in support annually to support our mission to change the lives of youth through access to quality education in the performing and visual arts. We accomplish this by providing excellence in sequential education and training, offering an emerging state of the art learning environment, accepting students of all ages and abilities, and partnering with other successful arts educators while maintaining affordability and accessibility. NSA is a family and community-oriented school that has served over 50,000 individuals since its inception and provides education for up to 750 students each week. The Development Office oversees all private fund-raising at the School, including grant writing, reporting, stewardship as well as all annual, capital, and endowment campaigns.


Detailed Description

The Development Assistant will provide administrative support to the Associate Executive Director and Development as well as supplemental support to the front office staff and reception. This individual will play a key role in working with the Development staff responsible for securing Gifts and stewarding donor relations, finalizing letters, memoranda, donor reports, funding proposals, and other correspondence. Will be responsible for arranging and tracking schedule related to foundation and corporate donors and prospects.

The Development Assistant will help to organize materials for board meetings, as well as help with events such as fall and spring donor cultivation events including Trustee-hosted Musicales. Additional responsibilities include data entry, coding, and other tracking functions related to the above activities, as well as general office support functions, and telephone coverage the office at large.

Requirements

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. Excellent administrative skills, Microsoft suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and computer database entry skills required, experience using Adobe and HTML is a plus. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proofreading skills are essential. Must have a professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and proper phone etiquette. Must be able to work in a face-paced office, and in a team, environment noted for its atmosphere of collaboration.
