Ars Musica is seeking a part-time Chorus Administrator to assist in carrying out the key day-to-day tasks associated with running an active community chorus.
Prepare and maintain communications with membership, including weekly emails during concert season
Manage Ars Musica’s Facebook and Instagram profiles, producing content on a regular schedule to increase audience engagement and market penetration
Develop other marketing and publicity materials as needed, including concert programs
Manage choral operations/logistics
Assist in maintaining a master database for all members, donors, advertisers, and audience members
Assist with grant writing and application submissions
Attend Chorale functions and Board of Directors meetings as needed

About Us

Ars Musica Chorale, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) NJ non-profit corporation, which began in 1965 as a small community chorus. Nearly sixty years later we continue to offer singers the opportunity to perform a wide variety of great music, holding ourselves to the highest standards. Our roster is made up of dedicated and talented avocational singers, all of whom devote hours each week to rehearsals and supporting activities. Our rehearsals are distinguished by a genuine sense of camaraderie among the members who come together to sing some of the world’s most beautiful choral compositions. Our concert season runs from September to June.

About this Role

Ars Musica is seeking a part-time Chorus Administrator to assist in carrying out the key day-to-day tasks associated with running an active community chorus. The person in this role will be responsible for the following duties (either directly, or through assisting others):
Prepare and maintain communications with membership, including weekly emails during concert season and as otherwise needed
Manage Ars Musica’s Facebook and Instagram profiles, producing content on a regular schedule to increase audience engagement and market penetration
Develop other marketing and publicity materials as needed, including concert programs
Manage choral operations/logistics (e.g., acting as primary contact for venues, organizing calendars and timelines, managing distribution of complimentary tickets, etc.)
Assist in maintaining a master database for all members, donors, advertisers, and audience members
Assist with grant writing and application submissions
Attend Chorale functions (first rehearsal, concerts, etc) and Board of Directors meetings as needed

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
An interest in classical music and the arts
A high level of proficiency with Google Docs, web-based email design, e.g., Mailchimp (familiarity with arts management software, e.g., ArtsPeople, and website management on Squarespace are a plus)
Comfort and proficiency in writing regular status updates, press releases, and other marketing and publicity materials
Experience with managing third-party social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)
A high degree of attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate work with limited direct oversight
The ability to work effectively both independently and in close collaboration with teammates and volunteers
A desire to learn new skills and technologies

The expected weekly commitment averages 10 hours per week, but will fluctuate depending on the time of year (e.g., less in early summer, more on concert weeks). Compensation will be $20-25 hourly, commensurate with experience; travel time and expenses will not be compensated/reimbursed.
