he duCret Center of Art is seeking a professional teaching artist to lead an introductory course in pastels. This introductory course will be for teaching Soft and Oil Pastels to adult students of art. This is an instructional position ideal for a working artist with a strong studio practice and a desire to share their knowledge in a supportive and creative community. Students of this pastel course will be beginners. The Pastel instructor will teach an Intro to Pastel course with an intermediate to advanced course in future sessions and is someone who is passionate about teaching foundational skills in both materials and core artistic principles.


Medium: Soft Pastels, Oil Pastels
Class duration: Classes are 8-10 weeks per session, ranging from 2 hours to 3 hours in duration.

About the Role: Arts Ed NJ, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has an immediate opening for a part-time Programs and Communications Associate. The role supports key programs, communications, and outreach efforts that advance the mission of the organization. The Count Basie Center for the Arts’ Phoenix Productions in the ever-growing and beautiful downtown Red Bank, New Jersey, is seeking a full-time Technical Specialist to facilitate the construction, transportation and installation of our scenic element and manage our professional-grade scene shop to further enhance the production quality of our organization. The position reports to Phoenix Productions Managing Artistic Director, and works closely with Technical Directors of the Basie Center and show staff, including directors and designers, to reach artistic goals within allotted resources.
